Company History
Originally established by Provincetown locals in 1935, Lower Cape Ice has been serving the local community and other Cape Cod towns for over 86 years. In 2008, Lower Cape Ice was purchased by lifetime Provincetown and Truro residents Shane and Adrienne Burhoe, who will continue the tradition of keeping it a local family-owned-and-operated business.
In 2009, they purchased property at their current location in Provincetown in order to build a brand-new, state-of-the-art ice manufacturing and storage facility.
In 1996, Shane and Adrienne started another company, Cape Cod Refrigeration, Heat & A/C, so taking over this ice company and carrying on the locally run tradition and high standard of customer service came easily. They continue to run both companies today and pride themselves on offering quality services and products to all of their customers.
Safe Products
At Lower Cape Ice, we take great pride to assure that our manufacturing site complies with all applicable food safety regulations and we consistently receive excellent ratings from state inspection authorities. We are inspected and licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Division of Foods.
Business Affiliations
Lower Cape Ice is proud to be affiliated with the Pan-Mass Challenge™ (PMC)! We supply all the ice for this weekend long cancer research and treatment fundraising event and its participants! Check out the PMC Website for more information.
We also supply ice for the National MS Bike Ride Fundraising Event.
We are proud members of the Provincetown Chamber of Commerce.
